Finding Wine Clubs
ByIf you are looking for wine clubs you probably know the easiest place to start is your home computer.
Google alone shows that there are more than nine million results when you search for wine clubs, so how do you tell them all apart?
Start with ownership. Do you want your club to be owned and operated by a family, or a large media company. Do you want to buy wine from the New York Times? Does your answer change if you learn that the newspaper’s food and wine writers have absolutely nothing to do with the club? The newspaper simply adds its name and marketing budget to a 3rd party which runs wine clubs for a number of other major media companies as well.
Personally, as much as I like shareholders of newspapers and Rubert Murdoch, I’d much rather give my money to a smaller company where I know the customer service I receive will be top notch.
